Position Overview:
The Financial Management Intern will be responsible for assisting with financial planning, budget analysis, and bookkeeping for multiple projects within the company. You will work closely with the leadership team to analyze monthly budgets, track revenue, and ensure that financial goals are met. This role will provide valuable experience in financial analysis, problem-solving, and cost-saving strategies within a dynamic business environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Mentorship & Research:
- Assist with financial mentorship for the team by providing budget insights and guiding financial decision-making.
- Research best practices in financial management and cost-saving strategies that align with the company’s goals.
Budget Upkeep & Financial Analysis:
- Manage and maintain the company’s budget across multiple projects, ensuring that all expenses are tracked accurately.
- Analyze the budget monthly to determine available funds for each department and project.
- Use Wix software to gather financial analytics and track revenue for company projects.
- Provide financial insights and solutions based on analysis to optimize company spending and savings.
Bookkeeping & Revenue Tracking:
- Maintain accurate records of all company transactions, expenses, and revenues.
- Track revenue sources and expenditures, ensuring they are properly categorized and reported.
- Create financial spreadsheets on Google Workspace to track revenue and expenses for each project.
Cost-Saving & Problem-Solving:
- Analyze monthly financial statements to identify areas for potential cost savings and optimization.
- Collaborate with other departments to recommend ways to reduce costs and improve operational efficiency.
- Identify and troubleshoot any discrepancies or issues within the budget and provide solutions to ensure financial stability.
Company Financial Goals:
- Work with the leadership team to set financial goals for the company, including revenue targets and cost-saving measures.
- Create detailed financial plans that outline the path to achieving company financial goals.
- Regularly monitor and report on the progress of financial goals to ensure they stay on track.
Monthly Budget Meetings:
- Schedule and participate in regular financial and budget meetings to discuss performance and strategize improvements.
- Present monthly budget reports, identifying key insights and areas for adjustments.
- Collaborate with the leadership team to revise and improve budget strategies based on meeting outcomes.
Financial Meeting Management:
- Organize financial review meetings with team members, ensuring that financial data is prepared and presented accurately.
- Assist in setting meeting agendas, taking notes, and ensuring action items are followed up on.
- Facilitate budget review meetings to ensure the team stays aligned with financial objectives.
Requirements:
Financial & Analytical Skills:
- Strong understanding of financial analysis, budgeting, and revenue tracking.
- Familiarity with using Wix software to access financial analytics and revenue reports.
- Ability to analyze financial data and present solutions that optimize cost-saving and budget management.
Problem-Solving Abilities:
- Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to identify financial issues and recommend practical solutions.
- Creative thinking in developing cost-saving strategies and ensuring the company maximizes its financial resources.
Organizational & Meeting Management:
- Ability to manage financial data across multiple projects and maintain organized financial records.
- Strong organizational skills for preparing and managing financial meetings, including setting agendas and tracking outcomes.
Communication & Mentorship Skills:
- Strong verbal and written communication skills to present financial data and mentor team members on budgeting practices.
- Ability to work collaboratively with different departments and provide financial guidance.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior experience in financial management, accounting, or budgeting is a plus.
- Experience creating financial spreadsheets on Google Workspace is preferred.
- Understanding of business finance and financial goal setting is a bonus.
